STUDENT STEM SEMI-FINALISTS
Two 8th grade students, Nazli Avila and Joy Rambert, are semifinalists in the Generation Nano Competition sponsored by the National Science Foundation and National Nanotechnology Initiative. For this contest, they created superheroes inspired by science, they wrote an essay along with a comic strip or video that told a story and described how their hero uses science on a mission or quest. Their entries will now be judged by a different panel of science and superhero experts. The finalists will be announced later in February. Congratulations to Nazli and Joy on this huge achievement in a nationwide contest of 6th to 12th graders!
